Summery lemon seaweed cake

Saftiger Zitronen-Algen-Kuchen von Lüttge

It's summer! Now it's time to get to the summer kitchen!

For a loaf pan:

  • 175g margarine
  • 175 g flour
  • 175 g sugar
  • 2 tsp Lüttge algae powder
  • 1/2 pack vanilla sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 lemons (untreated)
  • 150 g icing sugar

Preheat the oven to 175-190 degrees.

Grate the lemon peel and squeeze the lemons.

Beat the sugar and eggs until fluffy. Sift the flour and gradually add it with the vanilla sugar, baking powder, lemon peel and margarine. Mix everything well. Take the first half of the dough and mix it with the Lüttge algae powder until it is evenly green. Grease the loaf pan well. Put the green dough into the loaf pan, then add the light dough and carefully fold everything in with a fork to create a nice structure.

Place the loaf pan in the oven on the middle rack and bake for about 30-40 minutes.

Gradually mix the icing sugar with the lemon juice until you have a thick glaze. Don't use too much lemon juice. Remove the finished, lukewarm cake from the tin, cover with the glaze and leave to cool.

    Ich habe den Kuchen 2 mal gebacken. Einmal mit, einmal ohne die Algen. Mir hat’s ohne die Algen besser geschmeckt 😂. Aber das liegt nur an meinem Geschmack, das Rezept ist super!
